Youth
The Global Education Centre are committed to providing information, resources and training for young people - and involving them in the process. There are several ways we involve young people, some of which are outlined below - we're always coming up with new stuff!
Participation
The Global Education Centre advocate meaningful youth participation, and as such provide loads of opportunities for young people to be a part of their work.

Just Focus, a youth-driven network providing young people with a way to engage with issues of global importance. The centre of Just Focus is our website, www.justfocus.org.nz.

Just Write, a certificated programme which supports a team of young people to develop their research, writing and interviewing skills; works to deepen their understanding of global issues; and provides them with opportunities to work with experienced journalists to produce work on global issues.For more, click here.
Events
The Global Education Centre runs events for young people to engage them in global issues.

Media That Matters Aotearoa is a short film festival run by and for young people, to get them thinking about and takinbg action on global issues. Held in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch in June each year, Media That Matters is based on a US movement, but has a Just Focus spin on it here.For more on events, click here.
Workshops
We deliver free workshops for young people on a variety of global themes. It could be anything from how to take action in your community, to indigenous issues, to youth stereotpes in the media - and we're open to ideas.

Media
The Global Education Centre advocate for the inclusion of youth voices on global issues and are pro-active in working with media to create editorial opportunities for young people. We have several collaborative projects which allow regular opportunities for young people to contribute editorial on global issues, particularly for youth media.
